The Afro-Haitian Dance Network is a cultural and educational organization strive to erase the myth of the Haitian culture portrayed in the media. Founded in 2008 as a mean to spread and preserve the Haitian Culture in the Atlanta area.  The Afro-Haitian dance Network believes preserving the African-Haitian culture is vital to our history and to our existence. We offer a diverse range of traditional Folkloric Haitian dance classes, performances, workshops on Haitian History and the meaning behind the traditional Haitian dances.

 

Martine Volcy Founder/ Director

 Martine Zhenga Volcy is an educator, a model, choreographer, and a creative dancer; She is the founder of the Afro-Haitian Dance Network which is an organization that believes in re-education and preservation of the Haitian culture in the Diaspora. She strives in educating the youth of their ancestral history through dance workshop, poetry and music at Imagine Mableton international academy. She’s the winner of Face of the Caribbean swim suit calendar competition for 2012 representing Haiti in the US Virgin Islands. Martine is also a voice for Haiti in the Atlanta area by co-hosting the Caribbean Running’s radio program every Friday from 2-4 on WRFG 89.3 fm www.wrfg.org
